Sudden lay off

Joe is 44 and and was surprised today to be laid off from his job of 10 years. Luckily, he had been maintaining his LifeWork plan and, that night, he found 5 people, within commuting distance who wanted him to work for them within the month. Two jobs were better than the one he had yesterday.

From jail to Vail

Frank (23) has been in jail for 2 years. While there, he learned from an OWDS rep that he could use a new tool called LWP ( a stand alone version for prison inmates that did not have access to the outside world) to learn about himself and discover things he would like to do when he was released. He spent the next 3 months doing self-assessmenst, exploring 100's of occupations, and building a career plan and resume. Last week, Frank went home, loaded his plan into a library computer, and last night found the perfect job near where his brother lived in Vail, CO. He'll move there next week and start his new job and new life.

Father knows best

When Taylor was 12 years old, her grandfather showed her how to use the kids version of LWP. When she was 13, her teacher asked all the students to write a short story about what kind of a job they would like to have when they grew up. Taylor was first. She spent 15 minutes describing how LWP helped her find 5 great occupations and college. All the kids said they wanted Taylor to take them to the school library and teach them how to use LWP.
